The smudges on the stainless are a nice effect. Maybe the legs would work better if they were an organic or implied flexible material? The matching stainless to the shell makes them feel ridged.

Nothing really, I was making a 3d logo/animation for this company: http://www.charactersk8boards.com/news.html As you can see, the logo is actually this robot the other way up. I just flipped the model and elaborated a little.

very cool, maybe the tenticles needs a bit of detail, jointing or something. What function does this robot perform? jhv
