Nice job on the snow. I was assuming it was mostly composited because of the detail of the snow.
That said... I think there is a missed opportunity in the Autodesk kiosk sign, and the logo. 3dsMax is about bringing things to life. The sign is the loneliest part of your image with the least life to it.
big thanks cgarchitect for the VizPro of the week
big thanks for everyone
people are curious how did I make the snow scene
I will post the making of once I finish
but please give me some time,I am busy on a small project this 2 weeks, then have to leave my office for 2 weeks ,will do it after come back
In fact ,the snow is very simple to do,I just use vraydisplacement
thank you !

really nice atmospheric treatment! While I applaud the realism, I would suggest altering the vulgarity on the sign and replacing the bar with something more like a hotel sign. i also agree with Travis' comment regarding the marquee. For the intended purpose of supporting the brand, it doesn't stand out and looks more like they are out of business.
A great image for mood and realism though. having been in NY when they have had 18" of snow, this instantly takes me back to that place and time.
mind blowing image.don,t have words to express its greatness...i visited your site. loved to see the photography of yours.waiting to see paintings as well.and also the making of..
Quoting TianYi: sorry for this later,I really have lack time, any comments are weclome
As said the greatness always lies in the simplicity...! TianYi, you makes it seems like it's very easy.. but I know a great artist only can make like this with such elegance and with ease.
Thank you for sharing the valuable information and steps for such a good work.
How did you create this image?
Is it a paste up from several photos?
Thanks!
I am going to try and do the technique with mental ray.
I dont know what kind of hit this much displacement will do to rendering time.
Is vray better with displacement render times?
the making of had been post here, but it doesn't show on the new version of cgarchitect.but you can find it here :
