Basic lodge model was provided by client as a sketch-up file. I then used 3DS Max and Vray to add vegetation, materials etc. Grass and trees were scatterd using multi-scatter, fog was made using a z-depth pass as a layer mask in photoshop.
Some comments ... the roof could be modeled better (both the tiles and the wood framing). Weather the walls and the green bench if you want it to look less "new". It looks like you need to invert the brick's bump map
The grass looks awesome. Cheers!
Mow the grass!
Just kidding, it looks amazing! especially the grass. The fog gives it that nice morning dew look. My only suggestions are to take a bit of shine off the shingles, and add/ bring out the texture of the wood framing on the roof.
I really enjoy the reflection off the sliding door. It gives the image some nice depth.
Thanks for the comments guys, I definetely agree about the roof modelling. I used batzal roof designer, had i had a bit more time I would have liked to have done it all manually with a bit more variation. In reality, the grass probably would look a bit more 'kempt', but I was aiming for a kind of lost in the woods type of image. Again, thank you for your comments, they help no end with inproving my work!
