About CGarchitect.com

Hello and welcome to CGarchitect.com. My name is Jeff Mottle and I am the President and Founder of CGarchitect.com. I have been working in the architectural CG field since 1994 and in that time I have worked for one of the world's largest modular construction industry leaders, SMED International, as a key member of their rendering department and previous to that for an estate home builder doing architectural renderings. In 2003, I was hired by Smoothe, one of the leading architectural visualization and creative companies in the world to start up and run their new North American office. I am currently employed by ArchVision as Business development manager for VisMasters. I am very involved in the architectural visualization industry and am committed to seeing this industry grow to become one of the most respected and professional fields in CG.

Over the past 11 years I have seen many resources and sites dedicated to CG, most of which were focused on the entertainment and gaming industry, however I had found very few online resources dedicated only to the use of computer graphics in architecture. In June of 2001, I started development of one of the first sites focused exclusively on the needs of architectural CG artists and lighting designers. With the help of many industry professionals from around the world this site was launched on August 1, 2001. Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive and up to date online resource for this industry.

Since our launch we have literally grown from getting a few hundred visits each month to nearly 90,000 visits and serving well over 5 million ad impressions per month! CGarchitect.com had not shown any signs of slowing down and continues to grow at a rapid pace. Thanks to many of you and your contributions, CGarchitect will continue to forge new territory and bring new and exciting developments to our industry.
