Location: China

I started with my career as an interior decoration designer ten years
ago and then moved to architectural visualization field. I was not
formally trained in 3D image field, but I learned a lot by just creating
images with passion. I had a degree in Chinese literature before I
entered this field. Believe it or not, many skills in writing apply to
image designing too. I enjoy visiting old villages and towns in my province and collect materials for my works. I am often inspired during these trips to create images with traditional Chinese characteristics. My dream project is to use 3D techniques to rebuild and present images of Guiyang, a city where I live now, in the past a hundred years.

Aaron Coon (aaron-cds) (WITHDREW FROM COMPETITION)
Location: USA

I am a licensed architect with eleven years of experience. Two years ago I made a decision to work towards the goal of working on my own. With a few years of experience with 3D rendering as a foundation, I formed Conceptual Design Studio in November 2005. The rendering experience I had did not include knowledge of global illumination, caustics or displacement. In fact, I hadn’t even heard of those terms. Prior to starting CDS, I worked as a designer for three years at a firm that did not utilize photo-realistic rendering as a presentation tool. I began the first year in business under a one year contract with the architecture firm that I had the 3D experience with. That contract ended last November and I’ve been on my own since. That first year was spent working my way through tutorials and endless experiments. During that time, I became a moderator at www.vizdepot.com where I received valuable criticism in the forums that helped me get to where I am today. The forums at CGArchitect also helped a lot. I’ve been an active member at both sites since starting my business. My goal for the future is to continually develop my craft. I still feel like there is so much more to learn.

Neha Kakkar (Neha)
Location: India

I was born in Jamshedpur, India in 1982, completed my primary schooling in Delhi. In 1991, we moved to Aurangabad, from where I completed my B.Arch with distinction (honors) in 2004. I developed a passion for 3D during my architecture days. I started using 3D as a design tool, to study the effects of light and shadow on different forms, to study how different texture and finishes can change entirely the look and style of design. By the time I completed architecture, I was so interested in vizualization that I decided to pursue my career in it. Since then, I've been in Pune working in the Indian Vizualization industry and doing freelancing projects for Indian and foreign clients as well. Recently, I won the Architectural Wonder-II contest on 3DAllusions and received an honorable mention for the Finding Shore contest on Vizdepot. These helped me to explore my creativity and develop the artist in myself. I am also a moderator on 3DAllusions where I get to learn and interact with a wonderful international community of passionate CG artists like myself.

Matthew Mielska Supranata (mattmax)
Location: Australia

I was born in Jakarta and been living in Australia since 1994. I was always been exposed to Film and Animation during my childhood (thanks to TV), but only late after I came across 3D during my studies in Industrial Designs (playing with virtual camera and materials for my Design presentations) that I've decided to pin my career path towards any form of 3D imaging be it Visualisation or VFX.

I've completed my degree in Multimedia Design in 2002 with the mindset of further expanding my skillset and passions for Photo-Realistic Imagings.

Since then I've worked on different varities of Prints and Digital based CG artworks. I've been involved in the Architectural Visualisations for the past 3 years and intending to iron down the path further into Films and Animations should opportunities arises.

Andras Miklos BALOGH (escargot)
Location: Hungary

I was born in Budapest, but I grew up in Godollo, a small town with a big castle (Sissi's castle). In the beginning of high school I wanted to be a mathematician, but at the end I decided to be an architect after all. I knew then that the architects have to draw a lot so I joined a drawing school. Not only, did I learn the usage of brushes and pens from the painter, but I did get closer to understanding things like proportion and rhythm. And thanks to this, I recharged my batteries for a couple of years. I met with CG at the university. I took part in the virtual reconstruction of the royal castle of Esztergom. This is where I first met with 3d studio max. I saw its unbelievable complexity and the unlimited freedom it offers. And I still see it nowadays, when I discover something new for me, in it. Or is it that I learn too slowly?
:) In February I took a Master degree in architecture. From now on, I
have a little more time for my hobbies: I like taking photographs and nowadays I'm very interested in design. I hope to be able to step on this direction too. Now, I work in the ZOA Architect Studio, where I'm fine.

Ernesto Pacheco (CHE)
Location: USA

My name is Ernesto Pacheco, I was born in Mexico city in 1979 and now I reside in the United States as a permanent resident. I have been happily married to my wife for 7 years now and we have a beautiful little 6 year girl.

I studied architecture for two years at Universidad de las Americas Puebla and have taken various computer graphics/multimedia coursework at other colleges in the U.S but my artistic background I owe to taking part in drawing and painting classes early on and throughout life. This was the beginning of my passion for artistic endeavors. My interest in computers began in elementary school, like many boys, with games; Quake to be exact. I was interested in how these games were developed and dreamed about getting into something having to do with computer graphics.

Soon after coming to the U.S. I began working for a corporation with some architects and began self-study of computer generated architectural illustration. I became pretty adept in various graphic softwares which I now use to express my artistic visions in a variety of unique ways. The skill that I have developed has also allowed me to found an architectural visualization studio in affiliation with some old college friends (www.virtualgfx.com). Our portfolio consists of works that reflect the highest standards in the industry. I feel I have made many accomplishments since I began this journey yet I still feel that the best is yet to come.

I've also worked as a special effects artist creating illustrations for advertisements. I got into architectural visualization about 7 months ago and have loved it. I enjoy painting with traditional mediums as well as creating art on the computer.
