Default White is displayed as yellow...argh.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with Photoshop 7. I just bought a copy on ebay, and upgraded from 6 to 7. When I open files, white is represented as yellow. (See attached screenshot) That drawing is supposed to be white, it is when opened in v.6, it is in Imageready 7.0, but not in Photoshop 7. Does anyone have any suggestions, It really sucks, because everything is too yellow now.

Hi,

it seems that your ACO files are corrupted. They are found in the presets>color books and color swatches folder in photoshop root. Try the attached set of copies from my PS 7.0. Copy to the presets folder and overwrite. (only a couples of Kb's)

Good luck,
Dennis

Dennis,

I have uninstalled, 7.0, then 6.0, and Imageready. Then it was still displaying wrong. I tried your files, thank you for sharing, but still no luck.

I just went in now and turned color management off, and that fixed it. But is that going to cause trouble in other ways?

Color management (mismanagement in this particular case:-) turned off doesn't affect your renderwork in a serious way. It is only a finetuning-tool and mostly used for printmedia and a bit of high-end website design.

Good luck,
Dennis
