#1 Is Final Render (the version that comes with Max) worth testing out on architectural renders?

#2 Which 3rd. party render package do you guys recommend V-ray or Brasil

#3 What is the difference between V-ray Advanced and V-ray Basic

1# what version of max do you have that include fr as renderer? mental ray ships with max, not fr. anyway, the answer is yes, mental ray can do great architectural works.

2# it depends. basically it's up to you: mr, vray, brazil, fr are all very good tools, i'd suggest you to download both vray and brazil demo and try them yourself.

3# there are big differencies, see a comparison here:

That's not the full version of Final Render it's just a demo which has all of the advanced features disabled. If I were you I would steer clear of Final Render, it's one of the most complicated and temperamental programs out there, Vray is much more user friendly.
