Default Backburner log in/out

Hey, fellas!
We're having a problem here with Backburner. The thing is we installed the Backburner Server as a Windows service, ie, it starts automatically when you start Windows. We did that so we can use all machines as clients, like in a render farm. The problem is that once the students arrive and log in, Backburner continues rendering the job assingned, which is kind of bad (considering we have to teach using the same machines). Is there a way to make it stop the job when someone logs in?
In addition, some machines are not connecting, showing the following error: 0000274C. What the heck is that?

We use a batch file that is located in the startup folder, it basically commands the backburner service to stop.

Hum...a batch file? I assume it starts just when the user logs in and tells Backburner to shut down, right? How do you do it? (sorry, I'm totally stupid in this matter... )

I wish I knew, our IT guy's figured it out. I'll see if I can get them to share how they did it.

i don't run backburner as a servervice, but i also control our renderfarm through batch files. they are great for that. the way i have it set up, when you log nto the machine, there is a batch file in the startup directory. that batch file has a command that runs a batch file on the server. i also have the windows scheduler set to run the batch file every 6 minutes.

i set the farm up this way so that i could simply change the batch file on the server, and it would tell all of the machines in the farm what to do. whether it is to start something, stop something, shutdaown, switch to a lightwave rendering farm, ect..

i will post some more info on it tomorrow if you are interested. the info is a t work, and i am at home.
