How to create custom tile patterns?

I am basically wondering what the easiest & most accurate way of creating a tile pattern in photoshop is?

I know how to make a box a certain size but how do I copy it over a certain distance for the grout? Or is there an easier way of doing this?!

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

To create seamless tiles/textures... use the offset tool (Plugin / other / offset) It will help you ofset your imagen so you can correct or eliminate the seams.

You can use the "ruler" and "guide lines" (click and hold on top of the ruler and drag the mouse to the picture... a light blue line will apear)

your tile should snap to those blue lines.
