Hey guys...

I figured I would get a good response from you guys since a lot of you run your own businesses and are online and web savvy.

To make a long story long, I gave up outlook and IE for thunderbird and firefox. I am a happy man for it. But I miss the contact list and calendar of outlook. So it got me thinking, rather then just trying patch up my thunderbird with the calendar (which sucks btw), why not embrace modern time with a good solid online system... do they exist? Plaxo (I think that is what it is called) only works with Outlook.

Do any of you use a php based contact database that can be used on your website?

I know that this is a little broad as a question, but just wondering what type of solutions are there for people trying to keep all their contact and calendar information online...

i use firefox and thunderbird also. although i have never been completely happy with thunderbird, it is kind of boggy switching to it sometimes. ...is the calendar app that you tried with it sunbird? ...i know they are developing that app still, even though you can get it in beta form.

anyway... i use Lunarpages as my web host, and they offer a couple of web mail apps that i can use. squirrel mail, and horde mail. horde includes a calendar, and contact list, amongst other things. i think it is an open source project, so anyone can download it and run with it...

edit: after a little more research, horde appears to be a framework that you can plug several modules into...
