Hi Everyone -

Seeing as the deadline is quickly approaching, I thought I'd better get things in gear for myself I'm posting some site photos from downtown Toronto, specifically the TD Centre, which is a Mies design. I've always thought that the scale of this area is incredibly personal (despite being a complex of tall towers), if that makes sense; being in the plaza beside the short pavillion is quite tranquil despite the chaos of King & Bay (heart of the financial district) nearby. This is a 10 minute walk from my office, and I enjoy being there at different times of the day.

I think my plan is to base my image on this space, including the towers themselves. The rest may be fabricated, or distorted, or left as is; I haven't decided yet. I'm also thinking of this being a stormy afternoon rush hour: muted colours punctuated by taxis and umbrellas.

So, time's really short - as everyone knows - and I don't have any good excuses such as the birth of a new child or natural disaster Anyway, here's a progress view. I've decided to focus attention on the plaza at rush hour; I think that this area is as much about pedestrians as it is automobiles, bringing human scale to the crush of towers. Lighting sucks right now, any suggestions appreciated. I'm still thinking about early morning/rain/dreariness, anything to avoid another sunny-blue-sky-cheerful image!
