Default crashing at raytracing.

Hey anyone,
so ive got this 196mb lp/ 278 ls project. When I try to raytrace it (direct illum or not) it crashes out. It asks me if i want to send ol microsoft an error msg.

I was thinkin that maybe lightscape got corrupted (like it sometimes does), but no my other projects still work.

The last thing i did before improving upon the model (from the last time it would raytrace) was loaded some lightscape trees and imported some geometry.

Please help. Deadline tomorrow morning. ack.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Jay Adams

How are you using it--GUI? If so, with a file that big, you really should use the commandline utilities to render or process the solution. There are some older threads here about 'LS doesn't like XP' that covers all this.

So:
commanline, if that fails, commandline on a W2K machine.

I am using the command line operations. (e-scape).

Still crashes. I removed the geometry and placing it in Photoshop.

Thanks though.

i think it have to do with escape and not with lightscape ...uff

Which operating system?
Do you use the latest dotnet libraries?
Which version of escape do you use?

escape have sometimes problems with the dualcpu option on a hyperthreaded or singlecpu system.
It also refuse processing with lsrad on some of my scenes.
Just let me know!
