Looks good in general, with the older chipsets you couldn't have 4x512MB and have it work in DDR400 mode but I think with the nForce4 you can. But for what you're spending on SLI can't you get a Quadro card? If you use 3DSMax or Viz you'll probably be happier with that, unless you're a gamer. If you're choosing specific memory modules see if you can get something with low latency numbers, like Corsair XMS or the new Crucial stuff - I've got mine at 2-3-3-6 1T and it does make a difference. (Lower numbers are better. This is in addition to it being DDR400 - not all DDR400 is created equal.) Windows for 64-bit is in beta, you might get ahold of a copy but I wouldn't really recommend it, use XP for now and upgrade when the release version is ready. You won't see that much difference anyway.

Make sure you have a VERY good power supply when using this much hardware. The MB is going to want a lot of amps (more than 20) on the +12V rail and with 2 GF cards and 2 HDDs you'll be sucking a lot of watts, get 500W or more to be sure you stay out of trouble.

also, on the power supply... check to see if your motherboard has a 24 pin or a 20 pin power connection. i am betting it is 24 pin. the conversion cable for a 20 pin power supply is not the same as having a 24 pin power supply.

The power supply doesnt matter, i also have an a8n-sli but you can simply use a 20pins connector to connect to the 24pins MB. Though read the manual to see how exactly.

As for the SLI part, someone correct me if im wrong plz, but SLI isnt configured (yet) for 3d work. All apps simply dont utilize it and hence its only an advatage in games, i'd suggest you switch the 2 6600gts for 1 6800gt, roughly the same price, and better performance, you can always update later with an extra 6800 when SLI is supported in 3d apps.

About the windows64 thing, i think they are available in the next couple days/weeks, if you have an XP pro license you can update to 64bit windows for FREE

take my advice and get a quaddro card for cad and rendering work. if not get one card that costs as much as those two combined it will be faster usually
and the 6600 or 6800 series are power hungry. they cause a lot of problems especially when you have all these components.
