Default Question about importing dwg file

hello all
i've imported a dwg file to max but whenever i try to import / merge another model it doesn't appear in the viewport or layers though i can move it ! also if i try to create a box from max it also doesn't appear tho i can see its parameters in the modify panel ..any help to fix this will be appreciated..
& here is a screenshot of the problem..

Have you checked that all layers are visable / unfrozen in max? like you say it seems to be creating the elements

thanx for your reply...but i checked it ..all layers are visible & non of them are on freeze am afraid i have to re-install max ..this problem never occured before

Maybe your units are not set right and the box is super small compared to the house? I doubt it, but just a thought.

2 whats? You don't have a Display Unit, to it's impossible to compare that with the size of the house.
It could be 2mm, which then would be perfectly right.
