After a rendered image how do you add shadow effects in photoshop when u insert imagecels into your scene..is it a tricky technique or there's a simple solution to it...

there's a free shadow plug in out there somewhere, but i cant remember where.
usually it's down to experience. basically - 1) paste in your imagecell. 2) copy the layer, desaturate it, turn the brightness down to black, and place the layer UNDER your original layer 3) use the standard stretch, distort, skew etc etc filters to make the shadow look like a shadow shape (depending on the topology it'll hit and the camera perspective) 4) adjust it's layer transparency to add depth to the shadow |
