I was wondering someone could advise me on the best setup I can use for Studio Max 5/Viz4 and the ATI Radeon 9800 128mb Card as I am running studio Max with Direct x 8. It errors if I choose Direct x 9??

Try using opengl.
Add a -h to the end of the 3dsmax.exe command line. Aka C:\3dsmax\3dsmax.exe -h (as an example). When the screen pops up, choose opengl. If that still gives you trouble...check for updated drivers from ATI's website. If that still doesn't work, use software heidi. (It should work though). |

Thank You,
I have been to discreet and thay have sent me a Studio Max 5.1 update. This has enabled Studio Max to operate using Dircet X9 which is cool. Max is running nice and sweet now! I am now impressed with the Radeon performance. Now I can get on with learing HDRI!!!! Thanks Daniel Hatton
