You should check if there are drivers for your hardware for 64bits. Usually programs are not the problem but the drivers. Nvidia has drivers for 64 bits. I had problems with the printer drivers; HP is not making drivers for 64 bits so I'm using my printer with the drivers of other printer which eventually worked. I had to search for the drivers of my wireless router antenna (succeded). AutoCAD 2006 installs the Net framework thing which didn't worked but you can download an update. Photoshop works fine.
Besides this problems I'm very happy with the change.

Read the recent thread on this forum called Windows 64 - if you get the 64-bit C4D you should see improvements. Check on Vectorworks and hardware drivers - nVidia has them but you might have other hardware that doesn't work so well, check you MB chipset, sound, network card, printer, scanner, coffee maker, etc.

I've noticed improvements in the overall PC performance. I had 4GB of RAM which now are fully working and AMD 3500+ 64bits but I'm using 3dsmax which is not a 64bits app yet and Maxwell render which is still in development and changing versions, so I can't really tell if rendering is faster.
