i tried making a wall with two windows, one square and one with an arched top... for the one with the arched top i 'connected' a rectangle and a sliced cylinder. when i try to make a boolean obj using this object, a rectangular cut is only seen...the cylinder part of the window is completely ignoreed, how do i make it be really part of the object i am trying to use??

a tip for booleans I learned here is to attach all the boolean objects into one editable poly...and boolean all at the same time...with your arched window I would make the boolean object from a line and extrude the profile, turning it into a poly and attaching the box boolean as an element...making one object...booleans are someties unpredictable...try using poly walls on a subobject level to create openings.
