Modeling/Texturing: Average
Lighting: We think the lighting is the strongest aspect of the image. The unique light zones work well together. Composition: We like some things that you tried. The bottom is successful but the top half looks skewed. C/O/D: We like that you took risks. It is debatable if all the risks worked. There is great creativity in the lighting. Unity: The bottom has a bizarre yellow amber color which is not unified with the rest. There looks like an action is happening in the water, but we don’t think there is actually an action. Brief: Could have some more lush foliage and be a bit cheerier. |

Modeling/Texturing: Pretty good - I like the dirty vs. clean texturing on the main surfaces that give the scene a little more contrast.
Lighting: Very good - the light levels aid the composition and help lead the eye to the center of the space without resorting to anything gimmicky. Compostion: Also very good, except for the unfortunate distortion at the top of the image. The planting does an excellent job of containing the image and re-focusing the eye back to the center. The diagonal line set up by the platforms is another subtle compositional device that works well. C/O/D: Very creative and original, but not technically outstanding. Unity: Very unified, nothing looks out of place and the scene looks finished. Brief: Overall very good, but perhaps a little too dark. I would have liked to see a few more people in the foreground to generate some activity. And a bit more color here and there would have helped too - as it is the color palatte is very restrained which is a bit odd with such lush landscaping. We like this a lot. The ambient lighting, combined with the use of targeted lights calling attention to specific elements and works very well in this image. Highlighting the edges of the platforms highlights the design of the space as well as cementing the impression that this is an actual space used by actual people. We particularly like the way the central spire is lit. The model is built in order to enhance realism, with the glass divided into smaller panes, and giant light fixtures added in the center. The plant life is skillfully arranged and enhances the foreground / background of the composition, although we feel like we want to see more varied types of plants in an educational bio-dome. Another mild criticism is the texturing; it feels a bit too industrial. We wouldn’t expect to find the same material on the floors as well as the ceilings, for example. The water is well done, but I might like to see it slightly more transparent. Maybe some lighting underwater could have pushed this a bit further.
Although we like the composition, it starts getting a little to warped at the top, making it appear rather heavy. But we agree that you took some risks with this and applaud that. |

modelling and lighting are fine - the lighting zones work well. The compositionis too stretched in the upper parts of the image. Not sure that the stylised people work with the photo-realism of the rest of the image and the mapping on the landscape is breaking up in the foreground.

Im not too keen on the extreme perspective, really doesnt sit well. The glass people also look a little strange to me. Also the haze doesnt do it any favours. I think you need to go for realism or concept style, bridging the gap can be dangerous if you dont get it right.
