Hey guys my first post here. I registered here at this forum because I'm lookign for teh exact same thing. The glossy raytraced materials look fine but often too clean.
I also found that you can do a lotby making a composite material with the glossy metal as base and make a nice dirt texture to go over that with the necessary opacity and specular maps to let the metal underneat shine through.
I'll definately try out these tips for brushed metals to. I'm in the need for some.
Just out of curiosity, for future reference,a nd not out of lazyness. Do any of you guys have or know some good, free vray matlibs ot there?
