ARTVPS BUILDS UPON MENTAL IMAGES PARTNERSHIP WITH LAUNCH OF NEW RENDERING SOLUTION (Siggraph, 1-3 August 2006, Hall A, Booth 2514, Boston Convention & Exhibition Center) Following its recent partnership with mental images®, ARTVPS, an industry leader in advanced rendering technology and 3D visualisation expertise, announces the launch of the ARTVPS Render Server, an advanced dual processing rendering solution. Incorporating leading-edge technologies from ARTVPS and mental images, the ARTVPS RenderServer provides users with a world leading rendering solution and a fast, flexible and robust platform for high resolution, photorealistic visualisation of 3D data. Designed to cater for growing demand in product marketing, design, architecture and the automotive industry, the ARTVPS Render Server can be used independently or as part of a dedicated render farm. With a 64-bit version of mental ray® standalone software and advanced RenderPipe material library, the ARTVPS Render Server integrates seamlessly with Autodesk’s 3ds Max® and Maya®. A network rendering solution, with a built-in, custom GUI front-end, the ARTVPS Render Server can organise and manage rendering tasks on a network enabling users to schedule and control simultaneous rendering jobs. Rolf Herken, CEO and CTO of mental images, said: “This is an exciting time for the advancement of rendering technology. The combination of technology and knowledge from mental images and ARTVPS in the ARTVPS Render Server allows users to benefit from the very best rendering software supported by dedicated hardware. We look forward to continuing our partnership with ARTVPS and to developing new specialized and interactive ray-tracing technologies to help further improve rendering quality and performance.” Brian Tyler, CEO at ARTVPS, said: “The ARTVPS Render Server forms the hub of ARTVPS’ latest range of rendering solutions and signals the next phase of our partnership with mental images. Combining ARTVPS and mental images technologies in one rendering solution, means users can create truly photorealistic images at faster speeds. The launch of the ARTVPS Render Server is an exciting time for ARTVPS. Everyone involved in the rendering industry should watch this space for further product developments and launches throughout the year.” Standard configuration of the ARTVPS Render Server includes two dual core AMD Opteron® processors, 4MB RAM, 250 GB hard disk, 1GB Ethernet, mountable 1U rack and an interactive front panel IP-setup and display.
