We decided to leave one of our people to stay for visit Vismasters conference. But only one this year. Now me personally know that siggraph worth to come at the very beginning, even when exhibition not opened yet, and stay until very last day. And as somebody said in next thread - put siggraph 2008 in your schedule and start savings right now to attend next Siggraph in San Diego. Last edited by intero_ua; August 3rd, 2006 at 01:29 AM. |

More photos!
I'm going to miss Siggraph, unfortunately. I was going to be there this afternoon, but last night my radiator hose decided to give out 30 miles from home on the roof of a garage next to Yankee Stadium. At least the Yankees won. I couldn't get the early start I was planning for, so the Siggy floor gets cut so I can make sure I get to the conference hotel without so much stress. Oh, and remember that the second greatest invention of the human race, second only to the wheel, is duct tape. |

Damn Alex, I'm sorry I missed you! Definitely would have been great to meet you face to face. Oh the well. I did get a kick out of finally meeting the V-Ray god himself, Mr. Vlado -- quite a quiet fellow, I'm not sure how he deals with all the fame that comes with writing a wildly popular rendering engine. ;-)
Am I alone in thinking that the Autodesk booth was incredibly awful? I could not believe that they only had 3ds max running on one computer station that was on the outside wall facing a main concourse aisle... I think at most two or three people could actually stand and watch the demonstration at a time. Compare that to Softimage's 30+ seats and 15' tall screen, with demonstrations by their sales guys and production artists as well. I ended up watching their demo even though I know nothing about XSI, it was so much more engaging. Really, really sad for us maxers. Shaun |

I second that! The autodesk booth WAS TERRIBLE! The VisMasters booth rocked and had more room, and demo space, then the MAX area. I tried to watch the MAX-9 demo but it was so packed in that isle. Wow.

the only time you can get a good Autodesk Demo is when they come to your office, lock you in a room with a lunch box, and ramble on for 4 hours about how ADT will save you company millions, get you home early on a friday, and do your diry cleaning for you. Their sales reps could sell 20 seats of AutoCAD to a Mom and Pop bakery and leave them convinced that they really need to upgrade every 6 months. |
