What are the units in the AutoCAD file? Metric or Imperial?
Also what is the difference in distortion when you open the AutoCAD dwg straight in ArchiCAD using the default ArchiCAD translator? That should give you a good idea of where it's scaling off, in terms of the scale factor to use in your own custom translator. Chances are that the scale factor will be somewhere between 2.54, or 3.28 or a variant or multiple of the two. Basically chances are that the AutoCAD file is set to metric units and it's just a question of whether the working unit is millimeters, centimeters or meters; and the corresponding factor in converting to your feet and/or inches in ArchiCAD. Once you figure out what the scale factor is between the 2 programs prior to adding your own adjustment ( and knowing what the working units are between them) it should be easy to figure out what you need to use in your own translator hope this helps... |
