Default foam on a beach

hey everyone,
so im trying to make the appearance of the foam that results after a wave comes up onto a sandy beach and then recedes...any ideas???

What software?
Have you modelled the beach? The water?

ya okay sorry about that, im in 3d VIZ working on a still image.

ive started the water, but being very new in the program i will be going back and forth between different techniques.

This is probably one of the most difficult things to simulate but there are a few tutorials around.
I did this in 5 minutes in Terragen. Wouldn't have a clue how to get there in ordinary 3d apps.

Nice stuff IC. I took you image into Photoshop. I hope you don't mind. Here is what I ot after 20 min of work.

It is not perfect but it kind off gives an idea of what could be done with more time.

Yep all Terragen. If you spent time on it you could do some good stuff and comp it into your render.
