Default Help with patches over large walls.

Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has already been covered but I did search and couldn’t find anything.

As you’ll see from the small previews I am getting splodges over my walls, can someone tell me if my settings are too low and if so what they’d recommend? (I am still on Vray 1.49)

I’ve used the noise threshold in the past to try and remove this problem but since the default changed I’ve no idea what’s a sensible number to set it at? Plus I can’t remember if it is the “Adaptive Subdivision Images Sampler” or the “Vray QMC Sampler” that I should be changing?

Thanks!

Hello woody, hows it going?
You could try lowering the interp. samples. This blends the shadow samples more. Try it on 15 and see what that does. You will have to re-calculate the irr map (looks like youre rendering from a saved file). Dont know about the light cache (i take it thats second bounce) because it has different parameters in 1.46.15 which im using.
Have you noticed much improvement between 1.46 and 1.49?
