Do it in Photoshop?

1) Trace the section of render you want to change (or Magic Wand)
2) save your marquee (Selection -> Save Selection and then give it a name)
3) click on Layer then add a new layer - give it a name (I use colour names)
4) switch to that new layer
5) pick the colour you want to use
6) flood the marqueed area
7) to keep the shadows, etc, go to Layers -> and change NORMAL to MULTIPLY
