Default Re: Memory usage

Todays results of processing radiosity in (same file):
Lightscape: 9:00 min
eScape : 9:30 min
LSnet : 9:30 min
Lightscape in the lead!
Interesting phenomenon
Also today the "black parts" that render black due the diferent graphic chipset, dissapered.
Im not drunk or high.

what about using LSrad? You should try a PURE command line routine. Altho LSnet has no GUI eScape does as well as LScape.

yeah but you are STILL using a GUI (eScape) to render. In my almost ten years of using LVS, I have never seen an .lp file process as fast as in LSRAD much less compare it with LSCAPE's. Its at least 30-50% faster if not more.

Yeah but you only see numbers pumping, noting like when you see the whole scene processing in Lightscape.

The updating of the GUI as well as the openGl and whatever else is what makes it SO SLOW. Why dont you try the command line LSRAD? Dont you know that LSCAPE is only a GUI? everything else is being done by LSRAD?

Using LSRAY is also faster than Lscape. Yes, LSRAY is what is being used to raytrace and LSRENDER is used to generate images from the solution files.

Default Re: Memory usage

o.k. Im runing out of patients
I have th same graphic cards on two of my nodes.
When they are the only ones, ON, that is rendering, get the same god damn thing again, black renderes...sometimes the whole picture is rendered out dark.
So this couldnt be due the graphic cards, or...?!
Is it possible to get with someone proffesional in contact to solve this somehow, or anybody with experince, and I know there are a lot of people here that still use Lightscape or were using it...
Please help:-(

Would I gain speed in radiosity processing, if I have 3Gb RAM with my E4300 thats clocked on 2,4 Ghz (present ram situation is 2 GB)?
Thank you!
