Hi,
When I try to make this tutorial: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150R...rials_anim.htm I didn't understand some points: 1-"Render every 10th frame of the animation to calculate the irradiance map" Is that means that I have to render only one frame? or all frames? ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2-"Render every 1st frame of the final background animation with the saved GI solutions and save the animation as a 48bit .png sequence" Is that means that I have to render only one frame? or all the animations with png images? --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3-When I calculate the "light cache" map and "irradiance" map, is there a difference if I saved them as "vrmap" or any other bitmap format like "png" or "jpg" ?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 4-"Render the whole sequence to 48-bit .png files" I think this means that I have to render the whole animation (from 0 to 500) with png files, meaning 500 png file, right? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 5- "Load the normal, black and pure animation sequences in three different slots and name them "normal", "black" and "pure". How can I load animation sequences in one slot? I know that every slot can take one map, so how can I load 500 map in one slot?? Best regards, Sherif Massoud www.3dshore.com |

I know that every slot can take one map, so how can I load 500 map in one slot?? ---------- The VRCompTex map is a way to composite seperat layers of animation into one finale render, like in this case the "normal", "black" and "pure" layers. It's sort of like doing it in a video program like premire, but this on is done with VRay. So, you load your sequences by loading a new material (important! use the Get Material button as the button image in the tutorial), choose Bitmap and In the file browser point to the first image of the sequence and check Sequence check box. This will make 3D Max load the entire sequence to the slot - which will make the material be an animated one. Just like if you want to model a TV set that have a show on...the TV will show a new frame on the screen(as a material) for every frame of the animation render. Than you can use those materials to for the sources in the VRCompTex, and since the materials are set as Environment with Screen mapping, you'll get the composite on the whole screen. Make sense?
