Apple is an excellent value these days. You can also go ahead and install Windows on it. The nVidia NVS is not for 3D work, neither is the ATI 2600, you'd be better off with the nVidia 8800 series. But Chris is right that the prices on these are steep - the CPUs are expensive and they don't use the same MBs and RAM as Core 2 PCs, all that is more expensive. You've got to know that a dual-quad is what you need.
