Re: What types of companies hire arch viz people?
there is really a use for a "3d person" at any place that is trying to sell something to someone. Before i started working at an architecture firm i worked at a strategic marketing/branding place that did environmental graphics & Museum interiors... strange mix of talents at that place, i was the only 3d person but I always had work to do.
There are also places (i know in chicago and new york) that are just 3d Visualization studios that architecture firms will hire to just handle the 3d work. Architecture knowledge is a plus because you're often working from CAD files or 2d building prints so i'd suggest even just doing a crash course in autocad.
