Hi,
Ok to date I have been doing the reflections in my house windows in photoshop as I just can't seem to get them looking right in Max (I am on version 7) I have attached an image of an attempt I have made at reflections in windows and they look all blurry and not sure whats going wrong. Here are the Glass material setting: Its a Blinn material with 70 Specular and 30 Glossiness. Then in the Reflection Maps slot I put Raytrace. In the raytrace settings all i have done is make trace mode reflections. Then I go to the map slot under background and choose a picture of another house, so it looks as though there are houses oposite even though there arn't any in the model. Any advice on what I am doing wrong would be great thanks. |

glass has imperfections and sometimes it's OK not to see sharp reflections - however, I would decide what is going to be across the street from the house because you wouldn't see the horizon line in the windows unless the house was on a hilltop. Try copying the house and placing it behind the camera so the windows reflect a neighborhood setting if that's what is there.
You can also place reflections in photoshop using bitmaps and blending modes on the windows. |

Hi there,
I saw your image. Have you apply mapping to your glasses? Can You send the original max file (along with that image of houses) to me? I will try for you. |
