Thanks for the link there, Nic... and great stuff, by the way.

One thing I noticed in the video as it was breaking down the first shot (diver in St. Paul's), it looked like one of the layers was one whole normal map. Is that what I was seeing, or was that layer just a shot of all of the normal maps in one pass?

Additionally, was there a reason for rendering the normal maps out in their own pass, or was it just mainly to use the colorful normal maps as a little visual treat in the video?
