Use File menu - Open and choose the 3DS file.

Oh, thanks. i was looking for the more difficult option straight up. i tried it this way tho and still only the ground floor and part of the first floor have come in, im still missing the top 3 levels. any one have any ideas as to why this is happening? im also only running the demo version which might be causing this problem, i think it might have be ready to expire.

where are you importing your 3ds from? what is in your 3ds file - 3ds content is only 3d stuff, any 2d drawing is ignored. you might also find that exploding your model before you make a 3ds file out of it to export is a better option too in some instances. Also, huge meshes need to be broken down into a few different objects before you 3ds them.
