hi
new to this forum its my first post...and i am asking for help sorry abt that on the contrary wht bought me to this forum is my search for a 3ds max book focussed for architects but which should be PROJECT-BASED rather than explaining concepts and fininshing the chapter with tutorials I was a complete novice to acad and i learnt autocad thru george omuras book. he explained the concepts while BUILDING ON A PROJECT and within 2 weeks i was making plans in my office on Acad. is there sth like this for 3ds-max for complete beginners i have come across books like 3ds max 8 fundamentals by ted boardman and foundation 3dsmax8 architectural visualisation by brain smith but r they project-based? |

I know Brian is clever but I wouldn't go as far as to say Brain! I have this book and with my self learnt knowledge it gives you a good understanding of max. The only thing that wasn't included that let it down for me was Vray. You won't learn everything in this book but it demonstrates how to work efficiently in areas.

Omura has another book called "Mastering Autodesk VIZ 2007". I have the 2005 version and it's project-based. Even though it covers VIZ, the same lessons apply to 3DSMax.
