I saw this over at Slashdot and thought someone might find it useful. It shows you how to convert Windows Server 08 into a power workstation OS as an alternative to Vista, with a significant jump in performance and stability. It's well worth reading.

NB: Server 08 costs about 4-6x that of Vista, the performance gains are reportedly about 10% more CPU... do some calculations, it may be economical for you. Microsoft does sell multiple licences so saving some money on license fees is possible.
