Thanks for your input everyone. OK, rafters and drawers are on their way out, so are the (horrible) chairs. Kopeykin, yes it is lacking GI, I'm trying to see what I can get out of only Final Gather.

It's also the first time I've taken a serious look at the mr_physicalSun/Sky system - always used HDRi previously. At the moment, it's not going as well as I'd like so I guess I'll have to get some photons going to spread the light around. I might see what happens with FG and relfective caustics instead of FG and GI. I'm setting some renders tonight, will post them once they're done.
