Default Importing Eps Logos...arrggg!!

Hi guys,

does anyone know of a good tutorial on importing eps logos and separating for texturing?

I have an eps logo Ive imported I need to bevel, exturde and surface. When I look through the mods list, I see bevel, and extrude...but when I select one of those options, the other is not available,,,,its not in the list.

Ive tried turning into editable mesh, and then using the mod function..i managed to get a bevel and extrustion, but the polys are goofed...im sure because of how its reading the points in the eps file.

Im a newbie to max flying lind...thanks for the help,,,,ag

The modify you are listed only available if you selected are shapes. You can not use other modify both bevel and extrude on same shape. Try to retouch you shape before apply extrude and convert to mesh(editable poly better in modify)

Run a shape check first (utitlity panel) and CLEAN the splines...
Good tutorial: in an old media animation book for max4 by new riders... it's a whole book about flying logo's etc...

arnold theres no need for both the modifiers u mentioned, bevel modifier will do the work by itself.

Actually, i have to ask a related question...aout selection of the faces, bevels and sides for surfacing....

In Lightwave I use the profile views, and make a reqtangle selection...real easy...

but in Maxusing the poly selection, the faces select easy, but the bevels select a section at a time...lots of labor selecting, then you have the sides...

So whats the best, most efficient selction method for these types of logos...

thanks a ton!! really!!
