Could you explain the submission image sizes in more detail?

On the upload dialogue box it requests that images are between 1000 and 1500 pixels wide, yet in the rules it states that images "must fit the proportions of 1000 x 1000 (which ever dimension is applicable to your image)".

So does each image have to fit within a 1000 pixel square? (Meaning that 1500 is too big)?

Or does the longer edge have to be between 1000 and 1500 with the shorter edge size not relevant?!

The 1500 pixels is only the limit the upload utility will accept. If you upload an image larger than this, it will reject it. Anything smaller will be resized to 1000 pixels.

Question Re: AVC 2007 - Accepting Qualification Entries

I have been watching the submitted entrys and I have a couple of questions:

1. I´ve seen some people create little collages of images and submitting that as one image. The result is that they are sending maybe 7 images instead of 3 (granted, they are using smaller images). Is this acceptable?

2. I´ve also seen some entrys that include non architectural images, like small objects or furniture. Again, is that acceptable? I have some very good renders of objects and I want to know if they would be considered as a sample of my work.

Thanks!

The rules say submit three images, not 3 collages, so those people will not be considered. So to answer your question only submit 3 single images and not a collage of images.

I guess I've not specifically indicated the images should be architecturally based, but given that this is an arch viz competition and the judges are from arch viz backgrounds, I would say it would increase your chances of qualifying if you only submit architectural renders. At the very least I would make 2 of the 3 arch renders.

Jeff,

Stupid question, I submitted the existing photo of a photomatch above the render so the judges could see what was rendered and what was photographed. Is this considered a collage? Does this disqualify me?

Funny, I was wondering how long it would take for the person who submitted that image to post. This one is ok as the image aspect is not affected by the addition of the photo, and it's not two renderings. You're all good.

When we are at the stupid questions, does the images created for or during the last years AVC count as acceptable for submission at qualification round?

Do the ones who have submitted a collage get a chance to fix the problem?
