Personally I would not use RPC's with Vray. I do a separate pass with the scan line renderer and comp them in with photoshop. This allows me to adjust the lighting of the RPC to match the image better, and add better shadows.

Vray is a GI renderer and RPC's are simply a collection of images applied at rendering time, so nothing for Vray to calculate against. Even with scanline or MentalRay the results never match the rest of the scene.

ok, so its working now. not sure what was wrong before. whatever the case, the rpc has to be moved out of the 'exclude' colomn in the light's shadow exclude box. just turning on the rpc shadow doesnt shift it for you like it did previously.

I am suprised really indeed, from which version Vray support RPC? As I can remember RPC were useless for Vray?
So your cars rendering fine? Only problems with people?
Can you please post some work with RPC cars?
How about trees, bushes...etc

You can also turn the self illum. off, so that light can do the job propreley.

I've had the same problem with people and I've never found a good solution to the problem. I did talk to the Archvision rep and the DVC this year and he said they were working on a new type of RPC that would interact with GI but he couldn’t tell me when it would be ready.
