Hi peoples...
I am hoping that there is a way to do this. Using a vray light material that is transluscent, similar to an acrylic lens on a lighting fixture. I've tried different ways to achieve this and am left with too many questions. Have tried setting up some lights behind a simple transluscent material and though I get some sort of glow, the concentration of light at the source is the exact opposite of what I am trying to accomplish. When I put down a light material I get a source of light but not the transluscency that I am looking for. I see the Opacity button in the VRAY light mtl but have not figured out how to use it. Have tried 2 sided material with no luck. Light material backside, opaque material front side. I will check out the chaos text book and hope I can figure it out from there. The application, by the way, is for a large lighted panel to be suspended above kitchen work area. There will be some steel structure as well as adjacent acrylic material. The way I see itm the transluscency of all parts is pretty important. Just got to figure out how to pull it off. Regards, Karl |
