I have been using formZ and have now switch to Viz due to a new job. In formZ I was able to select the edge of a box for example and round the edge to a specific radius. how do you acheive this in Viz. Hopefully this is an easy question and Im just missing something..

Well, that would sure be nice wouldn't it! I know it's such a simple matter in Form-Z and it really adds a lot of realizm being able to see elongated highlights on the corners like that. I mean, virtually any corner is rounded even if just a little bit, but alas, in Viz or Max it's just more work than it's worth. You can chamfer corners by selecting the edges in mesh sub-object and adding a chamfer distance in the edit geometry options, then chamfer again untill it looks rounded, but that doesn't work that well especially where you have two rounded edges coming together. The only other thing I could possibly suggest is getting the power-solids plug in. It allows you to do exactly what you are asking but I'm not sure what the requirements on the geometry are because I haven't used it much at all. At siggraph 2002 I asked a discreet rep to show me how to do this and he couldn't so I don't think I've over looked anything, but If I have, someone please let us know! Good luck to you and tell discreet/autodesk how usefull this would be to us all. (not that that does any good though)

If your walls or edges were created with splines, you can add a fillet or chamfer modifier which will accomplish this.
Works well if you use the *gasp* dwg linker in Viz.

Thanks for the help, so I guess I am not lossing my mind. Where can I find power-solids and how much would it cost. It seems like such a simple problem, I would hate to have to pay extra money for a solution to something that is part of basic modeling.
