Reading through all the stories It seems like this one is the most realistic of the 20. I wonder if this would have been different if you were not the first posting your story. Anyway I wouldn`t ask myself questions `how come that I was selected` if I were you. You definately belong here! Good luck for the challenge and may the Dozer be with you!

I wanted to do something more creative like some of the others, but I'm so slammed with work right now. I wanted to do something that will allow me to finish the competition on time. A pretty rendering is something that won't take too much time. An under water scene or a building trapped in ice, there's no way I have time to do something like that. My wife and 3 year old son would never see me come up from my basement office. That's not good.

I wouldn't say it's unimaginativeness. Anyway I think that creating a photo-real image can take up as much time as a fantasy one.
But family is the first, that is sure.

This is a really nice straight forward concept. Your story will make a very clean rendering and animation. I completely understand where are you coming from. I am in th exact same situation. I am sure you will be able to pull out some great visualization out of this challenge. Good luck.

Hi,

As a judge I do not want to add to much critiques in favor of any of the competitors. In my opinion you are all winners. There is no underdog in this competition. Seeing all the original entries before and up-close, imho all final competitors are really really really good!
Eventually, we do have to make a rating of course... to pick a winner... but otherwise it would not be a competition... and it is exactly this, that drives people... I just like it: all I've seen, the dedication, motivation, stress... It's all part of it, but the result is phenomenal ,-)

rgds,

nisus
