Default Patterlini benoit - Story

Hello everybody,
First, I am very glad to contest in the 2007 architectural visualization competition.
My choice is done, I am going to use "export-turquie" throughout the competition.
I mean, this model is for me, the most beautiful and interesting. The verticals and horzontals are interesting,I could in this way work on space sequences and deapth of field.
I want to tell a story about new life for this building, I want to enhance and bring out this building with a modern structure around it.
I am inspired by the artist Christo and his land art style.I want to blend tradition and modernism, blend metal and classical stone,. I want to contrast between reflection, specularity and dusky....
In this way, I want to express something culturally significant.
I want to show you a sketch to express my concept...
Good luck to all the contestants...

ok, I see,
My story was not really written...
The story takes place in 2030, the hearth is about to change because of the atmosphere... No one can breath without a gaz mask ....
The Architecture of stones is suffuring, the surface of stones turns brown and black....and a couple of days after, each building collapse like a castle of cards....
Glass and metal are the only one which can stand up for ever....
But in this way, the Architecture history is about to disappear...
The Pyramids and the Acropole are already distroyed because of a lake of meaning .
Scientists work hard to save the other ones who can be saved , for example , in Paris " Notre Dame" has been conservated with a huge secondary skin based on titanium and tinted glass...
I am a young architect based in Paris and I have been mandated to save a turkish building...I have to design and set up one of these structures who can preserve this turkish building.....
My mission is ,first, to save the monument, but I must also bring out it....
This is a huge urban surgery.....
I can't fail...I hope.....
Now, I leave paris to Ankara...

See you soon...

I think the juxtaposition of gleaming metal, reflecting and refracting glass against an old architectural monument will look spectacular!

This reminds me of the Lee-Chin Crystal, an architectural commission in Canada's largest heritage restoration project that is being built right now at the Royal Ontario Museum...although I imagine your rendering will look more beautiful and crystal-like then our real world example.

-I see your love comics made a big effect on your story! Creating a big contrast of high-tech architecture and traditional masonry is a great challenge indeed. It will be interesting to see how you put your chosen building into a sci-fi environment without letting this sci-fi environment (polished metal surfaces, people with gas-masks, glass etc.) overwhelm the building itself. That is something I would definately pay attention on. Can`t wait to see your first images. Just a couple more hours. Go Go Go!

Nice idea. Your writings and sketch reminds me of the sceneographies of the movies Batman and Brazil. There various historical architectural styles live together in peace and harmony in some sort of neo-neo-architecture. I`m not sure wether this feeling is your intention or not. I wish you good luck in the competition!

Nice story. It will be interesting to see how you camouflage a traditional building in a futuristic environment. You have also mentioned in the story how you have to preserve (save) it apart from enhancing it. This, I believe will need some modifications in the model. It will be a challenge to not really change the structure, and include all the things you are going to show. All the best to you in the contest

This is a very nice concept. The contract between old and new is always interesting to see. The new structure will need to enhance or compliment the existing building. Good luck.
