I'm new to light rendering applications, I've imported my files to viz,no problem. I installed lightscape yesterday and tried to import a AD2007 .dwg, I get a error message. Failed to import. I'm using lightscape 3.2 do I have to save my 2007dwg as an older file. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'll have to try saving on another machine. AD2007 doesn't have an option to save that old, back to 2004 or r14lt. At school I had to save back to 2004 then put on another machine, then save back to 2000 and it will open. Quite a process.

Thanks for your input. When I try to import as a ds it can['t find the file. However, I can save as r14 Lt It will import it, the dialog ask if the size is right, it's not but I say yes, it opens and I can't see it.

autodesk has a drawing converter for any release called 'trueconvert'
if all you need is an earlier version, that should do it. i'm a little busy to find you the exact link, but just search autodesk.com |

Thanks I thought about the same thing and found a converter named dwgateway. Free download that does the same thing. Thirty more minutes to download. If that doesn't work I'll try the Autodesk version thanks a bunch.

as you have viz as well, you could link your dwg to viz, apply the materials (architectural), UV's etc. and then export to lightscape. in the lightscape exporter you can define openings by materials, daylight time, layer creation rules etc.
once you change the geometry in your dwg, you can reload it, and thanks to filelinking all materials and textures are automaticliy reapplied. -rpict |
