Default problem with viz and new graphics card

I have recently upgraded computers at work and am experiencing problems.
When I am using VIZ 2006 it will freeze 4-5 times a day. We have a NVIDIA 8800 GTS graphics card. We have taken this out and tried another graphics card in the computer to make sure that is the problem and that works fine.
can anyone help me.

thanks

Are you using the most current drivers?

hmm this does sound familiar. Is there a pop up baloon saying that "a device has been plugged in?"

When you say "freeze" what exactly happens? Does the program actually freeze, or does your scene disapear? On some machines I have seen a common problem of switching to a different program for a minute (such as internet explorer), then you come back to your viz session, and when you go to orbit in a perspective view, and all you see is the RCS icon, but no actual geometry. Pull up the select by name list, and everything is still there, it's just not being displayed propperly. If this is your problem, it may be a simple driver setting. I don't have the problem, but I have seen it a lot. If that's not your problem, I still suggest changing drivers and/or driver settings.

No the whole computer freezes you can't move the mouse or access task manager. We have tried 3-4 different drivers in a attempt to fix this problem but they all have that same problem.
