The above FTP info will not work until we have reviewed all of the entries.

Jeff,

Are we ever going to get the final scores for the competition? I have to say that I am very disappointed with the overall response from the judges. Only very few of them seemed to be committed to judging the challenge. To this day we don't even know who took the three first places.

Congratulations to the five nominees. It was a pleasure competing along side all of you.

Ernesto

Yeah I was a bit disapointed as well with how few judges submitted their critiques. I'm debating whether I continue this competition or if I do, if it takes on a much different direction.

As for the scores. The winners were only announced publicly at the DMVC on Saturday night and I did not get home until late Sunday night, so I've been playing catchup all week. I've already got it scheduled on my plate this weekend to get the final scores up and annouce the prize packages.

Hi all,

Being one of the judges myself, I must admit I felt the same: it took a long time before the judges scored or gave comments, if ever... I honestly think this is no way to behave towards the competitors or Jeff.

I do understand our busy daily jobs, but IMHO a judge is commited to do certain tasks and knows UPFRONT what it takes to be a judge. It is a commitment. Jeff was VERY clear about the deadlines even before the competition started so everyone was able to schedule this.
I understand that in a few occasions it is hard to always keep the schedule, but I was disappointed at the rate this happened, i.e. more often than not.

I also understand the competitors. They have been working so hard for their results and it is but normal that they are VERY curious to find out how they did. As a judge, one should be able to get into their shoes... and do the job one commited to do...

For myself, and even with heavy deadlines at our company just before I left for Siggraph, I have tried to respond as quick as possible. I want to thank Jeff for keeping me updated to the minute (!) about the final upload, so I could finish the judging before I left. Tnx Jeff! And congratulations for this event: you did it again!

rgds,

nisus
