Default Community rendering possible?

Hi, Just a thought, Could anyone tell me or guide me as for if its possible set up a rendering network beetween members of any CG page? has this been done? I was thinking more of time zones and dead time in terms of machines, If possible, would it be factible to "share" "sell" "exchange" "add points" etc your machine. Is it impossible?
again, just a thought,
Kind regards,
Martin

it would be nice to have a torrent protocol based render farm system

the biggest opposition to this concept is caused by the necessity for all the plugins and licenses that you use to be on every system in the "farm"

Since you can't legally distribute the resources required for rendering, it would be impossible to setup such a network.

After reading these answers, and coming accross this http://www.daylongraphics.com/other/net_render.pdf
it seems possible to render on a machine just the job, it has been done. The licenses and plug ins installs apply as per machine intalled. Could there be a legal loop there?
