Simple but I like it, I'd add a little bump or displacement to the carpet because it looks flat.

nice and intriguing.

there really isn't a lot to comment on. maybe the chair seem could use more detail, but other than that, nothing stands out as odd to me. the floor texture, and wall texture are exceptionally nice, and the solar system on the table is original. did you use AO?

....i like that the rug is not shag. there is to much shag on the forum these days.

Thanks.
No AO - just some post work to add contrast and a little grain.
The door and dado rail are to classic Georgian proportions so modern furniture does throw the scale off a little.

Travis, I agree about the shag, even if the comment did make me laugh.
You've got your portfolio online at last. Looks great!

Strat, what's the r.i.p. deal with yours?

i must remove it actually.

i had a website active all last year, but it didn't really generate any work. you put all your time and effort crafting a nice web site, but really it's only a personal gallery to show off. in my opinion it's primary purpose should be to generate work. which it didn't. even though i had literally thousands of hits.

so at the end of my first year's subscription to my ISP i quit. just couldn't be arsed. Hasn't effected my personal work one iota.

I agree actually. Mine hasn't brought me a single client. That's why it's set up on a free site with a £3.50 subscription for the domain name.

It's only useful for directing people to examples of my work after they are already interested in employing my services.

i couldn't even be arsed doing that

if peeps enquire about my work i'll speak to them on the blower and email them examples. i find if a potential client is interested enough in me to be a potential source of income i'll go out of my way to accommodate him. i find just emailing them a link to a gallery site quite cold and impersonal. but then, thats just me most peeps would think ur nuts being in business and not at least having a website.

besides, most websites just grow old and weary and un-maintained with images and links from the dark ages

Hey IC,

Nice detailing there. I like the feel on the wall awesome really.

What's the instrument on the table, don't know. But looks really nice.

Regarding the web and emailing, I heard from some peeps that if I email a introduction letter to 3d studios, design firms it is considered as spam. Is it really that way. So how do we market for ourselves. I have a website and do get good hits, also quotes. Nothing works ahead. Any clue why. Start - IC, what do you suggest.
