Hi,
While finishing my interior animation project, I faced some noise areas in kitchen and bathroom, especially in the shadows areas, I don't know the reason for this?? but it's a very bad effect, and must be eliminated, but how? I'm using the famous technique of calculating the lc and ir maps for all sequence, them render all stills, then gathering them. by the way I didn't face this noise problem in the entrance and bedroom area Please if anyone have any information about this problem, let me know. |

when you say noise, do you mean the anim flickers when played after compression?
Dont really know about lc, it may be easier to simplify the process. render your solution using a qmc sampler method and incremental add to map. render every 10 frames or so. Use the final irr map produed to render your animation remember to render every frame! |

I just meant that when I made a test for any still of the animation (like the one I'm posting here, it's suppose that I don't find any noise or bad areas.
As you see in this image, the surrounding red area is very noisy and not clear, and this will be reflected in the animation in turn, just.. Anyway, I'll try your method and will see, thanks any way |

did you try raising interpolations to 40 or more? (imap interp, under hsps subdivs)
If the GI is working in your stills but not in animations, it is a precalculation issue.... i think.... and the imap is the one that is not calculated completely, is aproximated using the "X" frames you pre calc. so you must concentrate there (this is a non expert opinion, but could help.... at least somebody could post that its completely wrong and give the right solution!) |

Have you checked "store with irradiance map" on your Vray light?
Some people say the shadow quality suffers when you check this, but in my experience noise like the kind your showing, disappears. |

Unfortunately, both solutions didn't work, anyhow, I'm after it and I'll let you know the results.
By the way, I'm splitting my interior animation into 5 sections: Entrance&Dining, Master bedroom, Chidren Bedroom, Bathroom and Kitchen. I finished the first 2, then I faced these problems in the last 2, now I want to get out a little and will make the children bedroom, I'll let you know how it'll work. |
