Hi lightscape friends,
already posted this on the vray-board, but since this seems to be the last place for lightscape hardliners (like seismograph said The installer will complain about missing 16/8bit system ... and quit. Install LS3.2 on a 32bit machine (client or use vmware), start it and enter your personal serial number and activation code. Copy the installation folder to a path of your choice on your x64 machine. Now export two reg-entries from the 32bit machine: regedit, (on the left pane, right click - export.) [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Lightscape] and [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Lightscape] The first key contains your registration data and should be fine. The second key needs a bit tweaking. Change every reg-path from: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Lightscape\3. 2\Profile] to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\L ightscape\3.2\Profile] (You have to add the \Wow6432Node\). Make sure the installation path in the reg entry is ok (D:\Program Files\Lightscape\...) Copy the two reg entries to your x64 machine and add them to the registry (double click), dont forget to backup your registry before). Start Lightscape and enjoy. If its crashing, (only happens in few cases with vista x64) delete your "nvogl32.dll" in the windows\SysWOW64 folder and replace it with a older winxp x64 "nvogl32.dll". |

I always believed in my heart this is possible, even tried something similar (did not know for "wow key").
Did somebody tried it yet? LS strikes back again!!! |

Why its not working? Do you see error messages? It worked for me on Win2003 x64 and Vista x64.
-Install LS on a 32bit machine (vmware+w2k worked for me) -Enter your registration data and activation -Copy the installed LS program folder to your x64 program folder ("program files x86", not to "program files", because LS ist still a 32bit application -On your 32bit system export the two LS reg entries (see post above) -Edit them (notepad) on your new x64 machine add the "Wow6432Node" and correct the installation path -Add them to your registry (click) -Start LS Attached my registry key, containing the new reg paths. Just edit your installation path inside of it. http://www.eldaco.net/upload/vray/ls-localmachine64.zip Good luck. Last edited by Randy; October 13th, 2007 at 11:12 AM. |

You mean Lightscape SP1? No Problem, because all the informations are stored in the registry. Installation went just fine.
The screenshot above is LS 3.2 SP1 - thanks to seismograph for the SP1. |
